Our History
The Farmers Carnival, based in Lautoka, was established in 2002 as a charitable organization with a mission to raise funds and provide back-to-school assistance to the children of farmers and support those in need. During its inception, the community was grappling with financial hardships due to a lack of employment opportunities, making it challenging for many families to afford education for their children. The carnival not only addressed these needs but also became a platform for bringing people together, fostering a sense of community spirit through shared festivities.
Since its founding, the Farmers Carnival has remained dedicated to its mission of helping the less fortunate. Over the years, the organization has supported thousands of individuals, ensuring that those in need receive the assistance they require. The carnival continues to be a place where people can come together, enjoy quality time with their families, and strengthen community bonds.
The Farmers Carnival is conducted under the National Farmers Union Carnival Trust Inc. (NFUCTI), a body registered under the Charitable Trusts Act. NFUCTI, as the parent organization, oversees the operations of the carnival and is accountable to the Registrar of Charitable Trusts. As the promoter of the carnivals, NFUCTI exercises control over the funds to ensure transparency, accountability, and adherence to the Trust’s objectives.
